Interested in starting an Alateen group?
Inquiries come from various sources including professionals, parents, teens, AA, churches and Al-Anon members. Refer here for the Al-Anon guideline for starting an Alateen group.
Location is important! Having Al-Anon and AA co-located is helpful A minimum of 4, ideally more, Area 24 certified Al-Anon Members Involved in Alateen Service (AMIAS) are needed to support a group. Area 24 Alateen groups cannot meet without 2 certified AMIAS present.
Many Al‑Anon members continue to seek professional assistance in addition to regularly attending meetings. The link between Al‑Anon and the professional community has always been one of interchange, cooperation, and support. For more information, visit al-anon.org/surveyresults
If you are considering starting an Alateen group within your school, this information could be helpful.
